Monggo and Alugbati
One of my favourite Filipino cuisines is sinabawang
monggo with alugbati. When I was a kid, I don’t want to eat any kind of
vegetables but when my mother used to cook sinabawang monggo with alugbati that
was the time I ate vegetable a lot. Whenever my mother is cooking my favourite
vegetables, I am always watching her the way how she cooks. Because of my
eagerness to learn, I am now the one who cooks and serve it. My father knows planting techniques because we
have a small plant yard in province before. While my mother, is now fond of
planting some vegetables even just in a small pot.
Since then, planting is really my family’s habit. I
also found it interesting and being amazed how the plants grow. I took a
documentation of my monggo beans and alugbati stem since day one. As it grows,
I can feel the fulfilment and achievement about my plant. It’s also funny
interesting when my father used to get some petals from my alugbati plant and
cook it even it’s just enough for two persons to eat. I realized, it’s not only
gives nourishments to our body but also gives happiness and unique experiences.
The way my plants growing, I’m looking forward on how it will be become.
